Log Cabin Foundations

Log cabins and log homes are very versatile due to their timber structure. This makes it relatively easy and inexpensive to alter and make to suit different types of foundations.

Post foundations, strip foundations, pile foundations, raft foundations, slab foundations or traditional insulated over site foundations. They are all suitable for a log house. Depending on your ground conditions you might need to use one of these types or sometimes a combination of different types of foundations (sloping ground or on the shore or hill side).

Before ordering you need to make sure that you have specified the type of foundations you intend to use so that our engineers can alter the floor frame to suit. Or construct a special sub frame or a raft where applicable.
